Well…welcome back me really. I took a bit of a hiatus…which turned into a bigger hiatus and then I got lazy. My apologies. In light of my ineptitudes, I’d like to just really link to a whole bunch of stuff I found super interesting over the past few weeks that I’ve been saving to try and write about but, instead, am just going to throw it all here and make you deal with it. I know, I know…you’ll actually have to leave my wonderfully mustard page to read some of this stuff but, you know what, I’m over it. Who knows, maybe I’ll make this a regular thing?
As I’m sure everyone is aware, this really shitty thing happened to this wonderful physicist Yvonne Brill and now we can’t stop talking about her cooking ability. Then, this article came out talking about the gender gap in the sciences and the ‘Seven rules to avoid gratuitous gender profiles of female scientests’.
This Princeton alumni and queen of the WAGs (wives and girlfriends) wrote a letter to the editor of the campus newspaper telling young women that “(s)mart women can’t (shouldn’t) marry men who aren’t at least their intellectual equal.” (‘What the fuck are you complaining about then’ you must be asking in horror) Then, she went on to say this: “For most of you, the cornerstone of your future and happiness will be inextricably linked to the man you marry, and you will never again have this concentration of men who are worthy of you. Here’s what nobody is telling you: Find a husband on campus before you graduate.” Basically, if you’re Ivy league, you better leave with your MRS. degree.
More women in India have been harrassed or assaulted and now we’re told it’s because we’re ‘too friendly‘. I’m actually ok with this because the argument is that Indian men take it the wrong way can’t deal with their shit.
This article, by porn star Aurora Snow, discusses the ‘other’ side of porn: the physicality of being a female porn star, the rising ‘extremism’ of consumer tastes, double standards between male and female stars, and ends on a philosophical (kind of) inquiry into where porn is going and if that’s actually a good thing.
This article, by Spectra, about what happens when a woman comes out as lesbian and the loss of her ‘pre-gay’ sisterhood.

Welcome back to the real world!
